No VIDEO call feature on red5plugin on Sparkweb client

Configuration problem or possible plugin problem

 

No VIDEO CHAT opton on IM sparkweb client using Openfire 3.7.0, follow instructions and chat works, spark client works on Mac and Linux

 

Just won't do VIDEO chat

 

I can't seem to figure out what is missing.

 

Can anybody help please?

I got my own setup, and it's working great, mostly due the guidance
I've read from you.
I will be hiring you to implement a ClearSpace implementation for us,
but first I got to have a RedFire video chat demo running in order to
sell the idea to the bosses.
I really appreciate any help you can provide to get that Video Call
option up so I can get to the next level

 

Please see attachment. I can't seem to be able to have that MAKE CALL
/ Video option to show up. Is there something i have to do in the
server panel do enable that?
I am desperate, I have been on this for 5 days straight, I just need a
little help...

which is bundled client from igniterealtime.

 

but the UI was not good enough

Video Call is working but no SIP cal as i do not have a telephony gateway

 

I would assist if i can but i am very busy on some on going projects

I fully understand you are super busy.
I am pretty sure this is just a little adjustment or setting I am missing
Please look at the attachments, see, mine doesn't have the CALL user option
just the chat option
I just want to know if it's related to Asterisk or something in the
Openfire server or another setting regarding red5
I am going crazy about it, I have read everything and I can't seem to
get it to do video chat call

To enable call you need red5 plugin within Openfire.
I do not have asterisk and or SIP bridges on my config

 


Q :
-Do you have red5/openfire plugin installed(Within Openfire console) ? if yes which version ?
-Do you manage to do call with red5, do you get the red5 test page ?
-You could also test and validate red5 with spark Client and red5 plugin.

 


I do not have access to my servers from here so i cannot provide you more details.

RED5page YES
-You could also test and validate red5 with spark Client and red5 plugin.
Sparkweb client 100% except for making video calls

I know it has to be something simple, I would do anything, promote

Thanks a lot for deep interest.
I could call you on thursday(Pls provide #) or Friday. I am currently on travel and very occupied with some big projects.

 

Some directions to search :

 

-Do you have such a page on your server : http://chat.free-solutions.ch/red5/red5.html ? that's a good start

 

See attachments. You need to enable the Phone component(That's probably the issue) in Openfire console/Red 5 settings as shown with attachments.
I do not run latest openfire and red5 so i do not know if this works with packages you run.

Red5 test page = ok

 

I get the plugins list and all
I just not able to get screenshot 11 I have no way to get into that
even tho' I do have the plugin install and working, I am going crazy!
Plugins are listed, I can see the read me, delete them or restart
them, no properties option.

 

Maybe something about the ports? 1935 & 7070 apart from 5222.

 

I can give you a call when you are back from your trip, say PM time on Friday?
I'm sorry to be a pain, I'm just desperate and I have no idea how to
finish now that I am stuck being completed 98%!

I just have a quick look to your server, great job... however

 

The Red5 Tab is missing like on mine see attachment. BUT i had a look at redfire Readme in the plugin section( http://216.70.70.79:9090/plugin-admin.jsp?plugin=redfire&showReadme=true&decorat or=none ) of your server
and it mention :

 

Configuration

 

   * Nothing to configure in the admin properties page

 

==> as i run an old version of red5 and Openfire could be the case that nothing is needed to configure within the console so RED5 tab could never appear

 


Possible solution : I did found on some releases some incompatibility red5 plugin and enterprise, monitoring or other ??? In such a case the red5 tab was missing in the console, seem very similar to issue you got.
So,
My suggestion is :
Try to run only redfire as pludin, rebuild a config with very minimal plugins and give a try. I would also like to update my openfire one of these days so i am interested to share findings then we could post "dele" he will be interested for sure.
